Christmas was good, but I have to admit that I was not in the mood for it!! It just didnt feel like Christmas to me this year and I was really sad about my attitude about it!! That all changed on Christmas Eve...... Aaron had to work so we spent most of the day with my family. We were there all day, house locked up tight waiting for Santa, and us, to arrive. Well we came home around 7:30ish, way early for Christmas Eve and had a big surprise waiting for us!! I came in the house first and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary, I went in the bedroom for a minute and Haylee comes running in behind me yelling Santa came Santa came!! I just looked at her like whatev, goof ball!!! But she said come see our tree, so I followed her and low and behold sure enough there sits a boat load of presents under our tree that we did not place there. I was shocked, for one how did I not see that when I came in, and two how did someone get in my very locked up house!!! Yes Christmas was tight, but we were ok, the kids got what was at the top of their lists, minus a few minor things. Well the few minor things is what happened to be a couple of those presents. Another funny thing those things were not mentioned to anyone but me and I didnt say anything either. Anyway the kids were beyond excited and saw fit that we should tear into them right that minute, not gonna happen!!! I made them wait until Christmas morning, mean I know!! But recieving that amazing surprise really changed my attitude and reminded me what Christmas was about!! When I was little my parnts always did a Secret Santa family and I remember helping deliver stuff at night when nobody was around!! I loved it, it was so awesome to know that some kids were going to get the surprise of their lives in the morning. My parents have done an excellent job in teaching us that it is not about yourself and what you want, it is about helping others and serving the ones you love!! Not just at Christmas time but all the time and I try very hard to serve whomever I can!! I hope that I can pass that on to my kids and I think it might be time to get them involved in the Secret Santa business!! But anyway whoever broke into my house and served our family, you know who you are, thank you!! You not only made 4 little children very very happy you brought the Spirit back into our home and made Christmas Christmas again!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

Holiday Traditions
Ok as you all know tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and we were talking about traditions that my mom remember as a child. So I thought I would ask you, my blogging friends, what are some tradiotions that you have? What are some traditions that you had as a child? Have you started any new traditions, being married and having kids? I will start, in our little family, the night we put our tree the kids get to sleep in the front room with the tree lights all aglow, they love it!! Another one we have is on Christmas Eve we make our cookies for Santa, which the kids also love!! I am really excited to hear about your traditions. I think it is a fun and interesting way to get to know each other better!!

So here we are December, Christmas time again! It is supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, but it is actually the bussiest time of the year!! We have been running around like chickens with their heads cut off!! Haylee finished up ballet with three, yes three performances in one week! She was in a production of The Nutcracker, she was a pretty snowflake!! She had so much fun performing and dancing her little heart out!! We are all gald for the break!! Both of the kids had school parties this week, Pay got to wear his jammies to school and have Polar Express day. They watched the movie and had hot chocolate and popcorn, he loved it!! It was alot of fun for the kids. Haylee's class read Christmas stories, decorated cookies and had a book exchange. She had a lot of fun also and came out of it with a really good book. Then we had a Christmas play that Haylee and Pay were both in. We have a tradition in our little Pine Canyon world. See this is where my family is from, and I mean our family settled this place and they are all still there, with a few new comers. We as a town\family have been putting on a Christmas play for years and I mean ALOT of years!!! We almost didnt have it this year but I am so glad that we did it. It was so much fun, the kids had a blast, and next year McCoy gets to join in on the fun!!! Then today came, Aaron and I got to go to Michelle Bales funeral. It was amazing, the spirit that was there is so undescribable!! She was an amazing woman who loved everyone so much!! Every person that got to know her was blessed, she was a perfect example of service and love!! She will be greatly missed and her husband and sons are in our hearts and prayers!! Then we had another party, just family this time, so more relaxed. We had good food, a bouncy house, treats, Santa came and we made gingerbread houses. The kids loved all the candy and sugar floating around. We all had a good time hanging out together. Now we are getting ready to enjoy the rest of our Holiday. School is out for two weeks, am I the only one that is happy about this? I love having the kids home, and they love being home. Christmas is here and it has snuck up on me so fast!! We have 5 days and I am not done with my shopping yet, I guess I better get on the ball. Well friends and family, if I dont see you, I hope your Christmas is everything you want it to be!!We love you all!!

Its The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!
It would be if we werent all sick!!! I have had it, I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired!!! We have had the weirdest 24hr bugs going through our house. My kids have also missed way to much school and I am fed up!!! We love Thanksgiving and Christmas, it is my two favorite holidays, but it comes at a price, our health! I guess it is time to bust out the bleach and get to bleaching every hard surface in my house to, hopefully, get rid of everything. But on the upside we did have a great Thanksgiving. We spent it with both of our families, we are lucky that they all live so close. I also learned how to make my mom's pies, they are so good. Plus we hit some Black Friday sales and saw New Moon. Me and Aaron kind of take that day and spend it together. And as usual our Christmas tree is up and ready for presents. I love Christmas it makes winter a little more bearable. Now to get us all healthy again!

Update with Pictures!!
We had a pretty good week!! We have been so busy, I have not cooked dinner at all this week, we have running around like chickens with their heads cut off!!! We got to go to Stake temple day and that was a lot of fun. We didnt do the whole session we just did sealings instead and that was one of the neatest experiences I have ever had!! It was a great reminder of what we really have been given!! I am so grateful to have an eternal family that I love so much!! Wed was ballet, she is so good at it and loves it so much. She really gets better every week, she's a little dancer, and has even shown some interest in clogging. Then Aaron and I went to Applebees for Verterans Day, it was so crowded!!! But we had a good dinner and alot of fun together!! Then last night Haylee and I went to Disney Princesses on Ice with a few friends. It was so much fun!!! The whole thing was a surprise, Haylee didnt even know that we were going somewhere until we left without the boys. But we met up and went to the Olive Garden where our waitress gave the girls a gift bag that had an invitation to the show in it, along with a whole lot of other goodies for them. They were so excited!!! But we had dinner, which was very good, and headed to the show. It was so cute!! I think my favorite was the 7 Dwarfs, they were really cute. Haylee had a really good time and I am so glad that we went!! I love sitting back and seeing my little girl so happy, it makes everything so worth it!!! But after such a crazy week I think we will spend tonight at home as a family. That is what I say now, we will see how it all goes. I hope everyone had a great week!!! Some are from Halloween.

Candy!!
So here is why I dislike Halloween so much. My children have been finding candy everywhere and want it for every meal of the day!! Then the other night Aaron and I were watching tv to discover Aaron was stuck to the couch!! GUM!!! GUM stuck to my couch, you have no idea how mad I was!! If my kids got nothing but chocolate, then I might consider liking Halloween, but people, like me hoard the chocolate for themselves. Not to mention SUCKERS, McCoy had THREE in his mouth, at the same time!!! I HATE Halloween because of the candy!! I have tried to take it away and hide it, but my children are sneaky, like their father, and find it every time. I will have to start doing what Alisha does and let them trade it in for a toy or something. That is such good thinking!! I like everything but the candy!!! If we could just dress up and decorate then it would be fine.

OcTobEr!!
Well not a lot happened this month. Just the same old thing, school, ballet, work for Aaron and house work for me. We had parent teacher conference for both of the kids and they are both doing so good!! I am amazed at how well they are doing!!! Haylee's reading is so awesome and they write like little adults, I am loving their school!! The most excitement this month is Aaron's hand surgery that he had done on Friday. He is recovering nicely and quickly. We also had a good Halloween, my least favorote, but they had fun and got a lot of junk!! I am getting more into Halloween now that I have kids, but it is still not my favorite. Although I was really disappointed that my family didnt hold their spook alley this year!! It is so much fun and it usually draws a huge crowd. But maybe next year. I will post pics of the kids in their costumes later, they looked so cute!! But October is over, which means it is time to get ready for Thanksgiving, and Christmas, my two favorites!! I am not a fan of winter, but what can you do besides move somewhere warm?? Anyway I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!!!

Pictures!!
It is school picture time, but after realizing how much I would be
paying for pictures, we opted to have my sister do them instead.
She does such a good job and I love the natural pictures more then
the posed ones you pay so much for. But these are what we have so far.
We took them up in Middle Canyon on Saturday morning. The colors
were beautiful and the weather was just right!!! I think they turned out
great!! Thanks Candie for doing them for me!!!

Teeth and the rest of our weekend
Haylee lost another tooth this weekend, she was so excited, until she realized that she swallowed it!!! That really got her going, crying and caring on. Then she comes up to me after settling down and asks, "will I still get paid?" Can you believe that is why she was so upset? I guess I can, I am pretty cheap when it comes to allowance money, they dont make much, if any. It was just so funny!! Yes she will still get paid, maybe a quarter. We had an amazing weekend. Aaron took the boys and their dog camping, and froze their patooties off!! But they still had fun, they always have fun with their dad!! Haylee and I had a girls night out instead, we got dinner and went shopping, at Walmart, we are agreed that we both hate that store!! But she managed to make her entire Christmas wish list this weekend, and she is not asking for a lot, just 4 things which I think Santa can handle. She is so cute and I just love her to death!!! Our mom and daughter date next month is going to be soooo much fun I cant wait, it is a surprise so I will tell you about it later. We hope everyone had a fun weekend and enjoyed Conference.

SePteMbeR PaRt 2!!
Ok so here is what else happened this month that I forgot in our last post. Payton lost his first tooth!! He was so excited, it was loose for a long time and he was playing with it at school and it came out. Aaron wrecked his bike, which I already told you. Now we are figuring out how much it is going to cost to fix it, and it looks like there is more damage then we thought. The kids are loving school Haylee even comes home and wants to play school with her friends, that is a huge turn around from last year. But the big news is this, we have a new member in our family, no I am not prego, Aaron found a dog and brought it home. That's right a dog!!! As for right now it is staying at his mom's house until we figure out what to do with him. The kids are getting very attatched and I think Aaron is too. I dont know we will see what happens in the coming days. Ememt also had his first taste of food this month, he really wasnt too sure, but it doesnt matter because it came right back up. He really liked the applesauce, but it came up too. We will try again this week some time. We have spent alot of time outside as a family. We have gone on bike rides and have taken alot of walks, the kids have really enjoyed being out with mom and dad. Even Emmet loves being outside, he even sat in the bike trailor with McCoy and they got along just fine. We are enjoying being a whole family again. Aaron started working again doing a house up in Farmington and so far it is going well. He is still pursuing the security jobs he has applied for, but for now we doing carpentry. I have really missed the smell of saw dust and wood. The more time we spend together the more I realize just how much I missed him!! He has been such a huge blessing to me, he has been amazing with the house and kids. I dont remember the last time I have had that much help. Anyway now that you are bored and probably leaving my blog, it has been an awesome month and we are so grateful to have Aaron home. Thanks for listening!!

SePteMbeR!!
September has been pretty good and has gone by very quickly!!! The kiddos are still loving school and are doing really well. Aaron is home and getting settled in, I think he is happy to be here and not ready to go back any time soon. He has taken the kids on two camping trips already and they have loved that!! Those boys are all over him, they really missed their dad and are wasting no time making up lost time together!! We have enjoyed watching our Fab 5 on America's Got Talent, I am so so glad that they did it!! They didnt take the money but they sure made the rest of them work for it!!! Haylee and I had a big spa night all planned, friends invited, movies rented, junk food ready to be eaten and we found a mouse!!! So we had to cancel the spa night at my house and headed to Grandma's and had a spa night there instead. We have caught our mouse and we hope we are rodent free!! Haylee is still loving ballet and she is a natural at it, I love watching her dance it takes me back to when I was little with my tiny clogging shoes, ready to go!! To finish off our month I get to go to Women's Conference and the Conference Center with my mom and sister and then Aaron and I will celebrate our 7th anniversary and our 1st anniversary, temple sealing. It has been crazy around our house, but we have enjoyed every minute of it!! Hope we didnt bore you to tears!! we have some cute pictures to post soon too!!

Payton
Payton came home the other day talking about his new friends at school and then he starts talking about a little girl named Sarah and she is his friend at school and then he says and mom she is really cute did you know that? I thought it was so funny!! Then I dropped him off at school the other day and was waiting with him for his teacher and a little girl turns the corner and he says look mom that is Sarah and he got all excited to talk to her. Then yesterday morning I woke up to him telling Haylee all about her and she thinks she is a cute girl too. I think Pay has his first crush!! It is cute!! Haylee has been learning about her continents and oceans already this year and I was at my mom's house while Madi was doing homework and heard her start talking about continents and oceans and stuff. They are learning the same thing at school, the difference is Haylee is in 1st grade and Madi is in 6th grade!!! I was shocked that Madi hadnt done geography yet and Hays is. I am so glad that we are in the charter school and I also heard that in the next year or two they hope to have a high school added on to the charter school. I hope my kids like it as much as I do.

Our Week
Aaron has been home now for a week and a half and it has been CRAZY!!! School and ballet are in full swing and the kids are loving it. Haylee came home the other day and named off all of her continents and oceans, which really impressed me!! Pay on the other hand has made sugar, about 5 pairs of shoes and wood. But later informed us that he did enjoy music class and PE, and he also got beat up apparently. I dont know how truthful that last part is. Haylee has been in ballet and is doing very well, she loves it so much and is really good at it!! She is like her momma when it comes to dancing!! Aaron has had a pretty eventful week also. He has been "working" up at the reserve center at the U during the day. It has been 4 days on and 4 off, it has been so awesome to have him home!! We missed him so much!!! But his biggest event this past week is he wrecked his bike the other day and it got impounded because the registration was up and our insurance info changed and I guess UHP frowns on that. But we got that mess cleared up just to get told that we have 3 days left of him working up at the U and until the end of the month to find a job!!! Nice huh? Needless to say he is a little stressed out!!! Oh to boot he is pretty frustrated with his former business partner that was a little less then honest with him. So far it has been a ride. But I am hoping that it will get better with time. But regardless of all the crap going on we are very grateful to have him home and we are enjoying every minute with him. I hope he is happy to be home too!! So that is our wild week I hope we didnt bore you to death!!

Little Racer!
Well I home from the Sandbox and as soon as I found out that Payton could ride is bike without training wheels I tried to get Myke to charge Payton's little pocket bike but she didnt want to be responsible for what could happen. I couldnt resist. Payton jumped right on and away he went. He has had a couple of good early get-offs, fortunately onto the grass, but he is learning fast.

Our Week
We have had a crazy week so far. The kids both started school and they love it!! They are excited to start in the new charter school and they both have amazing teachers. My favorite part is that they do everything electronically so no more paper clutter!! Our biggest event of the week is Aaron coming home!! He got here last night and we are so grateful to have him safely home with us!!! I knew he was coming for a while but I didnt tell the kids, we surprised them instead!! We showed up and had Aaron knock on the door and the kids answered it, it was awesome!! We are just so grateful that he was kept safe and is now home to stay!! The video is blurry i couldnt get it to focus but you can still hear the excitement pretty good!!

Really Close!!!
Today is my last day alone!!!!! He will be here tomorrow and I am so excited!!!!! The kids still dont know and I cant wait to surprise them. He will get here tomorrow evenging so I cant take him to school so I am just going to have him knock on the door instead and let them answer it. I cant wait to see the looks on their faces when they see who is on the other side of that door!!!!! It is going to be so much fun!! I am just so thankful that it is almost over and we can go back to being a family again, not that we ever stopped being a family but it will be nice to have our family be together again. I cant wait for him to get here and meet Emmet and check out how much the kids have grown and he gets to get to know us all over again. I am counting down the hours now and tomorrow I will be as giddy as a little school girl I cant wait to get to hold him and know that he is coming home to stay. And he has promised me some sleep so I will hold him to that! I will post pictures and I am hoping to get it on video and post it also.

Gymnastics

Almost Home
HE'S ON HIS WAY!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an email from Aaron this morning saying that the truck was loaded and they were just waiting for it to get dark and they were leaving!! When I got the email it was already 6pm there so they should be gone or just leaving by no. I am so beyond excited, but I am alone in my excitement because I am not telling the kids. I want to surprise them. He should be here right around the time school starts, so if they are at school when he gets here we are going to go down to the school to surprise them. It will be so much fun!! He cant wait to get here and get his babies and just be home and get back to life. We are excited only a couple more weeks now!

Aaron Update.
So Aaron has been given a new schedule and he will be leaving Iraq on Saturday, yes this coming Saturday August 8th. He should be here at home to stay by the end of the month. We are all very excited, but I am not telling the kids I am going to surprise them. That way if there are any delays then they wont be disappointed or let down in any way. I am excited to have him home but a little nervous at the same time. It is going be awesome to have him home, but we will have new stresses to go along with it. But I cant wait for him to get here and the kids will be exstatic!! It wont be long now!

A Good Book
I bought a book tonight, looking for a good uplifting read, and it was amazing! I finished this book in about 2 hrs maybe. It is called Behind Every Good Man Helping Your Husband Take The Spiritual Lead At Home by John Bytheway. He is one of my favorite speakers so I had to read it. It was so good and it really shed some light on how to be a better wife, mother, sister, and all out person. So if you ae looking for a good book to read I would recomend this one.

Gettin Crafty!
So with Aaron being gone and leaving us a lot of time on our hands, yeah right, we have decided to get crafty. The kids slept at Aaron's mom's house and my mom and I had a craft night. We made some pillows, flip flops, some cute pictures to hang in the kids rooms, painted Haylee's bedroom furniture, and I made all four of the kids journals. I still have some more stuff to finish too. I found 3 old trunks at the DI that I need to clean up and put to use, we are in dire need of extra storage. I also have some vinyl to have made and put to use. The kids have really enjoyed the crafts, Haylee has really gotten into scrapbooking and all that jazz, and she is really enjoying her room. By the way not all of that stuff was done in one night but within the last month and a half.

update.
So not a whole lot has been going on at our house. We are officially home now, we have moved back in and are no longer staying at my mom's. It has been nice but stressful at the same time. The kids are still doing gymnastics and they still love it. They are getting really good at alot of stuff, their teachers are amazing with them. It is really cute too, I thought that they would be a little competitive, like their parents, but they have been really good and encourage eachother. I love it I think I will keep Payton in during the school year and Haylee will go back to ballet. Aaron is supposed to be home around Thanksgiving, but we found out that he will be back in the states by the end of Aug and home to stay by the end of Sept, which is very exciting. I am really excited and a little nervous at the same time. It will be challenging but very worth it. We are playing around with the idea of moving to Idaho, there is a security job up there that he is looking at, but we are also looking into church security and some other stuff out here too. It will be interesting either way. But I am looking forward to having him home and getting settled in to family life again. I'm not telling the kids, I am going to surprise them, if Aaron will go along with me. But that is it for now, we are pretty boring people!

Teeth
Payton discovred his first loose tooth yesterday, he is so excited. We were driving home and turns over to Haylee and says "Thanks for punching me in the mouth, no my tooth is loose." He meant it too, itwasnt sarcasm. He is excited to lose a tooth, he is too funny. I hate it they are growing up so fast.

Nash Family Reunion
Today was our Nash Family Reunion, and it was so much fun. The kids had a blast with some new friends. This picture of Halyee is of her with my cousin's girls Sage and Karli. They had too much fun. At one point they each had a camera and were taking pictures of just random things, I thought is was funny, we have some very interesting pictures and some of them are pretty good. McCoy also enjoyed himself, he was running around having fun then I look to see him NAKED! Yes naked at the reunion full of people he has never met, yep that is Aaron's son! He also made a new friend, my other cousin's little girl Lila. They were so cute, holding hands and kissing eachother, see he can be nice. Anyway we had alot of fun reminicing with family that we havent seen in years. It was so nice to talk and let the little ones get to know eachother. And Haylee got a pen pal out of it. Haylee also had her first sleepover, with a friend. She got to sleep at the Stewart's house last night, they were very brave to have over. She had so much fun they watched movies and sat up talking for most of the night. She cant wait to have another sleepover. All in all we had an awesome weekend. Tomorrow we will head over to Cheryl's for cake and ice cream for McCoy.

Happy Birthday McCoy!!!
Tomorrow is McCoy's birthday, he is already 2, I can't believe it! We had his party tonight and I think it was pretty fun. We went over to the little park behind La Frontera and had dinner and cake, and just let the kids play while we sat around and talked. My sister took pictures and I will post them when I get them. Thanks to everyone that came and made it special, thank you for all the cute toys and clothes. We appreciate it and we love you all! Sorry it was such short notice, we'll be more organized next time.

Update
Here is this week in a nutshell. It went by very quickly, we did the same old same old. I found that I the milk blister is gone and has been replaced with thrush, so far Emmet doesnt have it. So I am trying to get rid of that with a cream and an herb, I am praying it works as planned. But for right now nursing is killing me but I am trying to endure and get through it. Wednesday we went to the zoo, the 1st through the 3rd is military appreciation so we go and get in for free. It was fun I took my sister and her daughter and my other sister Madi with us, we got there right as it opened and was done by lunch. It worked out great because we beat the heat. We went to gymnastics yesterday, they love it. I am so glad that I signed them up for the summer, I think it will be really good for them. Today McCoy has been throwing up all day. Emmet has been crying all day and I have a massive headache. It has been interesting today. Haylee and Payton did get to go to the ten for ten movie and got to see Up. They loved it!! While they were there the babies and I went to the DI and found some awesome stuff. This weekend will go by quickly also, it's the 4th, I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend. I hope we dont bore everyone to death.

Update
So not a whole lot happened this week. The most ecitement we had is gymnastics. Haylee and Payton started gymnastics on Thurseday, they LOVE it. They had so much fun working on cartwheels, summersaults and jumping on the trampolines. Pay was a natural at everything, Haylee is pretty good but still needs some practice, I'm really impressed with both of them. They both want to stay with it, good thing, we signed up for the summer. That is the most excitement we had. We had two birthday parties this week and we went and played at McDonalds with our nephew Ammon. At my cousin's daughter's birthday party the kids found tons of snails, it was gross. It poured the whole time and we were at a park, so the snails were everywhere, disgusting. Payton also came home with really nasty blisters on his feet, because he refuses to wear socks and his shoes were soaked through. Then we went to my nephew's son's birthday party today at the same park, minus the rain and snails. They had too much fun playing at the park. It was too hot though, and they came home with sunburns. I also found that I have a milk blister and that is why I want to cry everytime I nurse on the one side. So I am trying to nurse myself back to good health so I can keep on nursing. I guess it was a little interesting, but I have come to realize that we are very boring people. Anyway I hope you enjoyed.

So I have had no time to update our blog, I was hoping that Aaron would post some things, but that has yet to happen. So here is a run down of how that last week has gone for us. Last Friday Payton graduated from pre-school. YAY PAY!! I am very proud of him he learned a lot from teahcer Bekah and is liking school. He loves Rebekah, she did an amazing job with the kids, she is so creative and fun, and best of all she loves what she does and it shows. Thanks Rebekah, you have no idea how much I appreciate everything you did this year at school and as my friend. Anyway graduation was fun, we had a nice BBQ and short program, performed by the kids, it was really cute. Saturday I treated Haylee to the Princess Festival down in Lindon. It was soooooo much fun, she loved every minute of it. The met all of the princesses and princes, they had to help the princes save the princesses. Then they each got a pearl necklace or a pearl ring at the end. They got to watch all the princes and princesses dance at Cinderella's Ball and got to have their picture taken with each royal couple. It was so much fun, they had crafts, activities and booths for shopping. I took alot of pictures and I will post some. She can't wait to go next year, might as well it is all for charity for women in Kenya, we even got to meet the princeeses of Kenya and the ambasador from Kenya, very fun. The kidos got to have a sleep over on Monday night with Aaron's mom and she had them all day Monday and Tuesday, they had so much fun just hanging out and playing. Thanks Cheryl for giving me a break, I appreciate very much. I had to get Emmet circumsised on Moday, he did so good he didnt even cry, of course it broke my heart, but he was a trooper. Then it was just the two of us on Tuesday, so I got caught up on some cleaning, not much cleaning has happened since the other 3 got home. But it is a work in progress. Not much happened on Wed of Thurs. I got the material for a blanket for McCoy and we had a playdate at Del Taco. Then today I made a tutu for my cousin's little girl, tomorrow is her birthday party. I have a babyshower tonight and tomorrow morning. We have been very busy, this week has gone by so fast! Amongst all this I have cleaned 16 eggs off of my kitchen floor and every toy we own has been strung through my house, I'm ready to throw all the toys away and start over. Starting Monday we are getting ready for a yard sale I have alot of stuff to put out and get rid of, I can't wait. Sorry this post is so long and boring, but we really arent that exciting, unless you count the eggs, wrestling matches, and just McCoy. I love him but he is a stinker!

Britny
My niece came into town to hang out for a couple of days. We haven't seen her in at least 2 years. Her name is Britny and she is 18 and now living in Georgia. My kids absolutely adore Brit and were so excited to see her!! She got to meet McCoy, Emmet, my other niece Kaitlyn, and my nephews baby Parker for the first time. We were passing babies around like crazy. It gave our family a good excuse to get together and we were ALL together, the only one missing was Aaron. It was crazy and my mom's house is too small to fit us all now. We had a good time together talking and playing the wii. She is amazing with the kids and they were all fighting over her. We love her so much and we can't wait until she comes out again. We love you sweet pea!

1st check up
Emmet went for his first check up today and he is perfect!! He has gained 4oz in a week and he is 18 3/4 in long. When he was born they said that he was 19.5in long, so they measured wrong or he has shrunk. He is growing like a weed already, but he is still a little peanut. We love him and think that he is one of the cutest things we have ever seen.

I need help!!!
I need help, McCoy has been aweful with Emmet. He hits, bites, scratches, pulls and pinches him. I don't know what to do. He acts like he is going to kiss him and love on him then he strikes. He really hates it when I am doing something with the baby and has even pretended like he is hurt to get my attention. It is driving me crazy I don't know what to do. It is making things very hard especially with Aaron being gone. Does anyone have any advice for me? How do I make my kids like eachother? Haylee and Payton have been driving me crazy too with all of their fighting. They fight like crazy and dont like being around eachother. I don't know what to do with them either. I want them to be best friends and want to do things together. The day is usually spent with them fighting and me yelling constantly. I feel like the worst mom ever because all I do is yell, like that helps anything. I need all the help I can get so all advice is welcome.
Haylee
We got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that Haylee has been accepted to the charter school with Payton!!! YAY!!!! I am so excited I have been hoping that she would get in. So now school will be easier they will be in the same school. That is a relief.

Graduation
She did it!! Haylee graduated kindergarten!!! She had a kindergarten program on Thursday where they all sang songs that they have been learning all year, then we went down to her class room and got see pictures and books that they have done through the year. Then they all got to say goodbye to their teacher, Miss Harms, who was in tears at the end. They got a cute little diploma and we took her home. She loved her teacher, who I thought was amazing, I hope she will be excited to go to 1st grade next year.So it is official summer vacation has now begun, I just hope she doesn't get bored. But for now let the summer games begin, they have already been out enjoying the pool. So now we are open for play dates and tons of fun.

Battle wounds
Emmet recieved his first battle wound today. Usually McCoy picks on kids that fight back because he likes the challenge, but poor Emmet was the exception today. He was asleep minding his own business and McCoy scratched his eye. I took pictures, I will post them. This poor kid's first few weeks are going to be rough.

We're home!!
Well we got to come home yesterday afternoon, and it has been insane!! Payton and McCoy both have been trying to pick Emmet up and lug him around, I have had to stop McCoy from getting in bed with him, and I have had to save his eyes and nose many times. The kids love him and I am afraid that they might love him to death. He is a really good baby, he is sleeping really good and we have had a lot of success with nursing. We are all in love with our newest addition. Aaron can't wait to get home to love on him and bond with him. He was the best birthday present I have ever gotten.

Emmet
I went to the doctor again today, and nothing has changed. I am still a good sized three. But my contractions are considered active labor, just the baby doesn't want to work with my body and come out. He is driving me crazy!!! So if I don't go into labor by myself then he will see me again Thursday morning. If I have changed by then, then he will let them start me. The upside is that we got it set up so that Aaron can be in the recovery room via webcam, which is very cool. Not much else is going on other then we are playing the waiting game and it is getting old. I will let everyone know as soon as we have the little stinker.

Emmet
hah, made you think I had him huh? I should have had this kid by now, he is being so stubborn!! My body is working so hard to get him out and he will not budge. He probably thinks that he is going to pull a Payton, he is dead wrong. I went into labor with Pay while Aaron was in California and it was the same thing, my body trying and him refusing. After a lot of hours of contracting and a lot of pain I was fed up. We got Aaron a flight to Utah and as soon he got to the hospital my water broke I went from a 5 to a 10 and pushed him out. He was just waiting for his dad to get there. But I cannot carry Emmet until November!!!! He will have to give up and come out. We are contracting and cramping really good today so I will be walking and doing everything I can to get him out. My body is too tired for this to last much longer. I dont know what it is with these boys and their dad but he is not going to win this time, unless he knows something we dont. Maybe Aaron will get to come home in the next few days, yeah right!!
Haylee
Haylee had her ballet performance last night at the Granstville High School, and it was great. They performed Sleeping Beauty, and Haylee was a little minion with Sarah being Malificent. She had such a good time doing it, Sarah really makes it fun for the little ones. It was so cute and all of the dancers looked really good. Their dancing has really improved over the year. Haylee looked so cute in her funky striped tights and all black outfit. I was such a proud mom, I could have cried when she went out and took her last bow. Even the boys enjoyed most of he dancing. It was really cute and all of the dancers worked really hard to learn their new dances, they did a great job.

Baby Update
I went to the doctor today and I am still a good size three, but I am having really hard, strong contractions, so he thinks we will go any day now. He is hoping that I make it through the weekend, but he is doubting it. Everything is looking good and the baby still sounds really good. We will be walking and doing what we can to help the labor along, because I can't take it anymore, we are ready to get him here. He said that he would see me next week if not later today and I am hoping that it is later today. Wish us luck it will be any time now.

Race for the cure
Today my sister walked in the race for the cure. There were thousands of people there walking for friends and family and because they are survivors themselves. The walk was a 5k, I think. She has been training really hard to be able to do it and she did great. She finished in just under an hour. She is very proud of herself and so are we. Good job Nina, the rest of my family is hoping to join her next year. We have a few family members that are cancer survivors and it is really hard to watch them fight it. She did an awesome job and we are all very proud of her.

36 Weeks
We went to the doctor today and we hit 36 weeks today. The baby sounded really good and I measured perfectly. I also gained a pound, yay, the nurse was happy. He checked me today and I am a 2 1/2 almost a 3 and he didnt say how thinned out I am. Instead he tried to tell me I was a 12, funny funny. But we could go any time now, but we are hoping to make it to Monday the 18th. We are having regular contractions, but I am feeling okay. We will be working hard to get the rest of our Spring cleaning done before next monday, that is what will more then likely put me into full labor. But we will take it easy and he will come when he is ready. Wish us luck. Also good luck to my sister Nina, she is walking for brest cancer in the morning, I'm sure she will do really good.

The Zoo!!
So today we yet again got nothing done at home, instead we went to the zoo. We are getting very far behind on our spring cleaning. But I decided that the boys needed a day of fun too. Haylee would have gone anyway because it was her school fieldtrip, but the boys never get to go anywhere. Aaron's mom was going to go with Haylee instead of me, but I called her and said lets all go so we didnt have to miss out. We had so much fun!! We couldnt find Haylee in the beginning so we went and saw some animals and ran into her on the way. The boys loved the monkeys, they are all just like brothers, they reminded me of Payton and McCoy wrestling around with eachother. I think McCoy's favorite was the elephant he didnt want to leave. We saw everything and we did everything. We rode the new carousel, McCoy loved that, Payton didnt enjoy that as much because he couldnt ride a wolf. Then we went and rode the train and McCoy slept right through it. Good thing everything for him was free I would hate to pay for a ride that he sleeps through. We hiked all over that zoo several times to make sure we saw everything. We are all so tired, the kids all slept on the way home which was nice to not hear fighting in the back seat. But I am glad that we went and we all had a good time. Thanks to Cheryl for going with us and for driving. We had fun, just no one tell my doctor. I go there tomorrow to see how this little guy is doing, hopefully behaving himself.

Spring Cleaning
Here is a Spring cleaning update. It is coming slowly this week. I havent been feeling very good the last couple of days, I have been down with a massive migraine. Haylee had a ballet rehersal for her performance of Sleeping Beauty and today we went shopping with Aaron's mom. But we are starting to feel quite a bit better so I am hoping to get some more stuff done. Inbetween Pay's docotors appointment tomorow and my doctors appointment on friday and a baby shower on Saturday. We are pretty busy but we have to get everything done before the baby comes and we are getting very close. I hope I can at least get his laundry done and put away. I hope we get it all done, wish me luck.

Spring Cleaning!!
We got another room done today. I took yesterday off to rest and I had other errands to do. I started Haylee's room today and got it all done. We unloaded all of her stuff, washed walls and doors. Sorted through all of her toys, clothes, shoes and school work she has collected over the year. We got it all organized and put away, we even got some new shelves hung up by the window. It looks really good and she is now in charge of keeping it that way. I'm not too worried she is a bit of a clean freak so I think she will do really good at keeping it clean. Tomorrow we will clean bathrooms and finish laundry. Then Saturday we will clean out and organize the laundry room. If we can keep up at this pace I may have our house cleaned and organized before Emmet gets here.

We went to the doctor today and the baby sounded great. I have lost 3 or 4 pounds and the baby has dropped into position. While checking the heartbeat I had a contraction and the doc was not too happy about that. He told me to do the best I can to hold him in for at least another week. I am hoping to go at least 2 more weeks, but we will see what happens. I am conracting here and there but I don't think it is bad enough to really worry about it. We will make it, I just need to take it easy. But the baby sounded awesome and I am measuring fine. We are getting really close, I hope I can get all of my spring cleaning done before he comes. Today is also my mom's birthday, she is 68 today. Sorry for telling your age mom. Happy Birthday we love you so much and appreciate everything you do for us.

Spring Cleaning!!
We have started spring cleaning this week, I love it when everything is clean and organized. I know a lot of people are probably rolling their eyes thinking yeah right. Yes it is true my house is always a mess, but it is not easy keeping up with three kids and a carpenter/marine. Between the 5 of us we have a lot of stuff and not enough space. So with another little Vargas on the way we will have even less space. So I am trying very hard to get the house completely done before I have Emmet. We started the kitchen yesterday and I finished it today. YEAH!!! All the cabinets have been cleaned inside and out, I have eliminated all of our junk drawers, and have gotten rid of a lot of stuff. Our pantry got its turn today, unloaded cleaned inside and out and organized. All that is left is the floor, but I have to be careful on the floor my knees can't take it. It feels so good to have one room done. Haylee's room is next, we will start it tomorrow. We will unload everything and wash all the walls, doors, and baseboards. Then we will sort and get rid of a lot of stuff, organize what is left and put it all away. Haylee is excited to get it done. I am anxious to get it all done too. Thanks to my dad who has been watching my boys for me. I hope I can get it all done without hurting myself or having a baby early. Wish me luck.

Its a sickness!!!!
So, since we haven't been doing much, with still being pregnant and all, I have been spending a lot of time on the computer. Mostly to see if Aaron gets on so we can chat at eachother, but I check my email and my blog quite often to see what is going on outside of our little world. Blogging has become my new addiction, especially when Aaron posts things and we write to eachother on our blog. I love reading the comments people leave, and I love blog hopping. I have found a lot of fun blogs and websites. It is a sickness people I am on late into the night, I think it was almost 11:30 or midnight last night when I finally forced myself to get off. I have to get better very quickly so I can overcome this new addiction, at least it is just blogging I am now addicted to, it could be so much worse. I am feeling a lot better then I was, I am mostly tired. I just don't feel like I am getting enough sleep. I went to the post office the other day to mail Aaron a box, it took a whopping 15 minutes, I almost fell asleep on the way back to my mom's, when I got to my mom's I slept for 2 hours. Main street to Pine Canyon is like a 5 minute drive if that I should not be nodding off in the car. But that is my biggest complaint at this point, I am exhausted and it is driving me crazy because I have too much to do.

I wish I had my camera!!!
So these last few days we have been spending 24/7 at my mom's house, and boy have they been something. Of course it is McCoy and Payton that has kept us laughing. We have had 3, thats right 3 mud baths, my mom's basement windows and a car or two have been painted with mud, and we are out of clean clothes. I have slept through a lot of it but what I have seen I wish I had my camera. McCoy came in the other afternoon with mud caked so thick, he looked like he had chocolate cake smeared all over him. That was the longest shower he has ever taken. The mud has dried up and they are looking for new things to get into, and I'm sure they will succeed soon. But tonight McCoy did the cutest thing ever. Haylee has really gotten into yoga lately, don't ask me why, but she was down showing off some moves and McCoy is copying her. It was so cute, I wish I had my video camera to get that one. I am hoping that he will try out yoga again so that I can get it on tape for Aaron, and to show him when he is older. Kids are so cute, they pick up the most unexpected things, I never would have thought that McCoy would try out yoga. I thought it was cute so I thought I would share.

Cell phones!
I hate cell phones!!! I love having one in the car and for emergencies, but they are so cheap. My phone broke a couple of weeks ago, for no apparent reason. It shut itself off and wouldn't turn back on and I can't get it to charge. So I took it over to the At&t store to see if they could figure out what is wrong with it. Well we were looking to see if my warranty was still good so I could just get a new phone. Of course my warranty ran out a month ago and the phone breaks! We found that the problem is the battery, it has a huge dent in it and neither one of us could figure out how it got there, because my phone has no damage to it. So I have to buy a new battery, they want to charge me $50, can you believe that? $50 for a phone that I don't even like. So now I don't know what to do, I really don't want to get a new battery, but I can't go without my phone either. So for now I am using my mom's cell to hold me over until I decide what to do. Any suggestions? I hate phones its too bad that we need them now days. Anyway if anyone needs to get a hold of me the number I am using is 435-830-6408, I hope to have mine working again soon.

You are funny!! I will galdly send you letters and pictures, I just don't want to send you anything that is going to be hard for you to get home. Speaking of pictures Haylee just had new school ones done I will send you one. Another girl in our ward is going to come and take pictures of the kids after I have Emmet, so I can send you those too. You know that I do not bake, what have I always said? Who do you think I am Betty Crocker? You know that is your department at home, but I will gladly send you some junk food from Walmart. Would you like chocolate or something else? Chocolate might melt before you get it huh? I will find something for you, and I will send batteries to you too, you can't go without batteries. Your first package will be there soon, maybe with a nice letter in it. We love you so much, I wish it was going by faster. Hang in here it won't be long before you are trying to escape from your wife and four kids. We love ya!
I never thought I would care if I got any mail or not but as efficient as email is there is still something so personal about a good old fasioned hand written letter. I love the webcam I got and it is awesome to see your faces and hear your voices streamed live to my little window to the outside world half way around the world. I'm not saying to write to me but if you feel so inclined to send me a letter or some tasty morsels that you slaved over a hot stove for, heck I don't care if you bought it at Walmart, who am I to deny you that opportunity. So for any of you that feel so inclined here is my address:

PS
On a more serious note I could alway use batteries, we tend to use batteries faster than we can get our dirty little mits on. We need AA's and CR123 batteries. Surefire brand are cheaper but they only really sell them at gun stores. If you would like to just get them to Myke she can mail it to me. Thanks Myke, have I told you lately how much I love you. Appreciate it

An interesting couple of days!
Well we had a couple of days if anything. Wednesday was a bad day, the kids were behaving horribly and we had a lot of yelling going on. That night I had some cramping and contracting, but this was after things had settled down quite a bit at our house. Thursday I wo ke up feeling horrible, I have had a really bad sinus infection for a month or so and I felt like crap. Well I had contractions all morning and decided to lie down with a big mug of water and try to get things to slow down. I was down for two hours and nothing let up, so I called the hospital and they wanted me to come in and check things out. Well they classified me as pre-term labor they gave me a ton of medicine to get things to stop, and nothing was helping. So they transported me up to the Uof U and let them take care of me up there. They a lot of poking and proding, which was not fun, the night was ended by me getting a nice shot in the butt of steroids to help develop the babies lungs, just in case we ended up delivering that night or the next morning. They gave me more medicine to stop contractions, and it was finally working, they tripled the dose that Tooele gave me. After going the whole night without a contraction they decided that I wasn't in a lot of danger of having a premature baby. They kept me another night and gave the second steroid shot, just in case. They sent me home today because the contractions and cramps have stopped for now. But they think that the cause of all this trouble is my sinus infection, I had no idea that an infection could throw me into early labor. Right now I am exhausted, even though I had no kids or anyone really around me I got no sleep. As for now they don't want me to be alone too much just in case labor starts up again. Alot of fluids and to pretty much lay around and not do to much. That is going to be very hard because I have a lot to do before I actually do bring Emmet home. We are hoping to carry him three or four more weeks at least. He had better stay where he is and behave himself. We are okay, hanging out and trying not to lose my patience with the kids, I guess stress and pregnancy are a bad mixture. But we will keep you posted on how things are going.

Aaron
I am glad to see that you have finally posted something. I don't give you grief all I said was that you could get on and post stuff, we like pictures too. Mom has asked me to ask you to get a camera and email us some pics of where you are and see if you can find one of those ginormous spiders. Don't try to catch one or anything, just get a picture for her to see. I know it is hard for you to be there and I definatley have it easier then you do. We are all looking foward to life being normal again, can you imagine how it will be to just go to work in the morning and coming home for dinner? I am looking forward to it. We all miss you so much and we have learned not to take you for granted anymore, so my lesson has been learned, you can come home now. I just realized too that we only have three more weeks until, they think, we have Emmet. I am getting a little nervous. But McCoy did really well with Brooklyn last night so we will see how he does after the baby gets here. I thought you were going to call and wake me up last night, do tonight and we will chat later. I found my glasses so I can see what I am doing. Now you won't have to guess what I have typed. We love you so much and the kids can't wait to see you on the computer again so call them later.
This one is for you, Myke
You give me all kinds of grief because I never post anything on our blog so here it is. J/K I'm doing fine, it is kind of suprising to me how warm it is during the day and can still get so cold at night. Yes it's true I have been watching an obscene amount of movies and TV series and it is actually harder than you think(not the sitting around watching movies part) to try and keep your mind busy and away from back home. I miss being normal and I am terrified of the thought that this might someday be normal. I don't think there is enough time in eternity. I love you Myke and give the kids a hug and a kiss for me.

Happy Easter!
We hope everyone had an awesome Easter. We had a lot of fun hanging out with family and loving on the new babies. We got to go up and spend most of the day with Aaron's family. We had dinner, an easter egg hunt and told the kids the easter story. The kids had a lot of fun, and boy are they tired all three zonked out before bed time. Yesterday we had another egg hunt and barbeque at my sister's house. The kids now have way to much candy. We also got to talk to Aaron via web cam. It was really neat to be able to see him and talk like he was right here with me. The kids thought that the web cam was really cool, now I have to make them understand that he can't talk to them all day every day. But I kind of feel like he should be able to talk along time too. He is supposed to have a 20 minute limit, but we have gone over that by quite a bit. He is doing well but is still bored out of his mind. There is nothing going on where he is, which is very comforting to me, but I don't want him getting too bored. He watches a lot of movies and sleeps quite a bit. But he is doing good and I am glad to know that the web cam works so he can see the baby and the baby can see and hear him. We hope Easter was a lot of fun for everyone and we are all looking forward to warmer weather.

Beautiful Day
Isn't today an awesome day? It is sunny out and the kids are out enjoying it to its fulness. I can hear lawnmowers going and people are out doing yard work. I am so excited for Spring and Summer to finally get here. I hear it is supposed to rain tomorrow, so we are going out to enjoy the weather while we can, I hope it is nice and sunny on Sunday for our easter egg hunt. I hope everyone enjoys a nice warm day today.

What a exciting day!!
My brother's wife was admitted to the hospital to have the baby today, well they had to do an emergency c-section. So we got one baby this morning her name is Kaitlyn Rose Cox, weighing in at 7lbs 4oz and 19 in long. Then Candace( Aaron's sister) was also admitted this morning because she lost her plug this morning. So we got a second baby this morning, they took Candace in for a c-section right after they brought my sister in law out. Her name is Brooklyn Joy Kartchner weighing in at 6lbs 9oz and I don't know how long she is. Both babies are doing really good and so are the mom's. We have been at the hospital all day checking out the new additions to our family. My kids are so excited to have two new cousins, it might get a little confusing, but we won't forget the birthdays. Then the only one left is our litlle Emmet, any time now.

More on Aaron
Aaron called me last night (at 2:30 am) it was almost noon there. We were chatting and I asked him what he does all day, you wouldn't believe his answer. He told me that he watched 6 movies yesterday and slept for 14 hours!!! Can you believe that, I asked him about the weather and he said it is in the 90s. Then he said that he had to go because his buddy there was waiting for him at Subway, yes Subway. I'm not sure if I have sent him to a war zone or on vacation. I would love to sleep for 14 hours. But I am sure Aaron hates it because he usually hates to just sit and do nothing. I hope it doesn't become a learned habit. That right there is our tax dollars hard at work. It was really nice to talk to him, I didn't realize how much I miss hearing his voice and hearing him laugh. But I'm not too worried about his safety right now, I haven't heard of too many bombs hitting Subway, not that it couldn't happen, I'm just saying. If i sound a little jealous, can you blame me? I'm sure it would feel more like a vacation for him if we were there, maybe.

Aaron update
I finally got an email from Aaron, right now that is how we are communicting. He is doing pretty good, he feels like he is on Mars. He says that it is really weird there but everthing is going well. He will be able to call home, but as for web cam, we don't know yet. I hope web cam will work because it would be nice to get to see him and him get to see the baby when he gets here. He is also very happy to have all 9 seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond, he says it feels a little more like home. He had better send it home to me so that I can have it here. That is all for now, all is well and email is all we get right now. I will keep you all updated.

McCoy
McCoy did the funniest thing last night and I thought I would share. I'm sure Pay didn't think it was funny but I did. We were getting ready for bed and I yelled for Payton to come in the other room and he didn't come and didn't come, so I yelled again. Well I guess McCoy thought that he was taking too long and ran down the hall toward Payton, then I hear Pay half crying and half laughing, I see McCoy come back in the room with Pay right behind him. I looked closer and realized McCoy was pulling Payton to me by the ear. I have never ever pulled my kids by the ear so I have no idea why he did that or where he learned how to do that. But I laughed for a long time after that, I am still laughing. Aaron would have loved it. I am glad to know I have a little parole officer in my house, maybe next time Payton will come the first time I yell at him.
I had another thought yesterday too. We all went to McDonalds yesterday for a play date and McCoy won't stay in playland, he wants to run around and see everything, like the nosy child he is. Well while chasing him down I had the thought how easy it would be for someone to snag him and be out of town before I even realized he was gone. This thought scared the crap out of me. He is too quick and I like to sit and visit with the girls who I don't get to talk to very often. I have found myself looking around and not knowing where McCoy is. So far I have gotten very lucky and he has been in the slide or over at the little table, but I think now I am a little paranoid about letting him run around playland. Then after I have Emmett I don't know if I will be able to handle playland anymore, I think that 4 kids will be too much. I don't know we may have to move our lunch play dates to a park or something a little less public, so we can really enjoy our friends and not worry about our kids escaping from playland or out on the highway. I don't know, it was just a thought but I would like to know what you think.
